Caragana arborescens is a shrub-like plant belonging to the Papilionaceae family, native to the countries between eastern Russia and the central territories of China.
It is a very interesting ornamental species. It has a rather moderate growth even in nature reaching a maximum of 6 meters.
The leaves vary from light green to dark green and are alternate and composed of minute leaflets.
The caragana bonsai is a beautiful ornamental shrub.
Its fragrant yellow flowers bloom between May and June, while in July its fruits or legumes containing several seeds ripen. It is good to guarantee this species a particularly draining soil.
Caragana sinica.
It is a species belonging to the Papilionaceae family, native to the Far East. It is a deciduous shrub that grows up to 1.5 meters in height. Being a hermaphrodite she has both male and female organs on the same subject. Between May and June it emits decorative orange flowers.
As for the exposure, it should be placed outdoors all year round, taking care to protect it only in the presence of winter frosts. In all other periods, it prefers positions in full sun and well-drained soil.
Also called "Chinese shrub pea", the Caragana Bonsai is a shrub native to Siberia and some areas of China. It was imported into the United States by Eurasians who used it as a food supply on their travels west.
